Analytical Summary

The month of June has seen a dip in visitors and views somewhat proportionate to the activity level and number of posts released at XBOP. In a general sense, it is true that if I invest time and effort into XBOP, the new content will attract attention. Across the board, similar to the monthly review for April, all statistics and metrics were a decrease from the previous month. In part, May was a very good month and reflects a mini peak within the cycle of visitors for the year to-date. For the first six months of the year, there is a discernible pattern in that one month will be an increase, followed by the next month where it declines. This two month up-down cycle has actually an emergent trend for 2016, particularly since the later half of 2015 was a sustained period of inactivity.

From a half-yearly, six-month review period, a total of 3000+ visitors to XBOP have generated 4900+ visits averaging 500+ visitors and 820+ visits each month. In comparison, the second half of 2015 was a low period of activity across the board. This latest six-month period represents a period of improvement from the low of 2015, but not fully recovered from the heights of 2014.

The cumulative tallies show that since XBOP migrated to the WordPress/Jetpack platform, over 14.5K visitors and almost 21.5K visits have been recorded.

Posting Activity

With 8 posts published in June, activity levels are half the rate of May. With the album launch content wrapping up, the shift in content development is thematically tied to life-group activities. It is through this theme that the Psalms Remixed series has been launched, as is the slightly older and yet to be continued writing series on Exercising Faith. This second writing project and topic aims to provide a write-up on the topic of Forgiveness that was the basis for a seven-week study in my life-group.

With a number of new people in the process of visiting and considering my life-group as a possible future family in which to journey and develop our faith. these write-ups invariably help to provide a partial glimpse of our life-group culture and practices.

As July and the second half of 2016 commences, I reiterate my commitment to completing the entire series that has just commenced in reviewing the Family Christmas Cruise that took place in December 2015. The 2016 pipeline also includes the bible verse focus on My Identity in Christ plus a new writing serial which has emerged from the result of life group discussions – Exercising Faith. This latest idea is, briefly, going to reflect the weekly bible studies which have been commenced in my life-group. The first introductory article was really a throwback to the the theme and activities that we have been putting into practice since 2014 as a group. The material and studies that become the life group focus in the next six weeks appears to lend itself directly into the upcoming program that Clayton Church is launching in June as a prayer event – 40 Days of Community. Thus, these two main topics are likely to drive XBOP content from a personal journal effort, and the challenge will be to ensure one of my two or three weekly posts covers these topics.

Without a doubt there is a strong Christian emphasis that underlies the heart and identity of XBOP – over the years this has been a constant theme that, if anything, underpins the core of XBOP. I love that God is constantly surfacing in my life – within and beyond the community of faith. Technology is also not too far off when it comes to the XBOP identity and I will return to the topics of Apple and ProPresenter in the not too distant future, particularly since WWDC 2016 has come and gone without too much of a commentary. It could  be that in part, the general sentiment of Apple losing its shine in recent times influences me and XBOP – I am just not sure on the cause and effect cycle here…
